The aim of this course is to give students knowledge and skills to solve problems related to equilibrium of a solid body and motion of a mass point and a solid body. Student who successfully passes this course will have developed knowledge in how forces cause motion of physical objects or force them to be in the equilibrium (no motion).
Motion of a few standard mechanisms is discussed as an addition to kinematics part of the course to give students some practical knowledge in mechanisms and how simpler mechanisms can be analyzed.
This course will also introduce modern computer software to assist in solving problems of mechanics.
