The purpose of this course is to provide you with a basic understanding of electronics. This course builds upon the material covered in secondary school (high school). It is expected that the student has a basic understanding of some general relationships and formulas (e.g. Ohm's law, electronic current, voltage, resistance). This course will review them once again, but only to refresh our memory.

This course will cover the following topics: passive components of electronics, semiconductor devices, optoelectronic elements, analog electronic circuits, the transistor as a switch, operational amplifiers, oscillators, power supplies, analog filters, and concepts of digital electronics.
