ENG: Lectures aim to provide an introductory overview of biomedical microelectromechanical systems (BioMEMS) applied to cutting edge miniaturized laboratory automation. This includes sensors and actuators and their networks in BioMEMS. Furthermore, technological aspects such as fabrication (from prototype fabrication to mass production) and applications in both research and industry (in novel analytical and diagnostic tasks) will be covered. Labs aim to provide hands-on tutorials on how such systems are designed, fabricated, simulated, tested and used for measurements in research.
EST: Õppeaine annab ülevaate mikroelektromehaanilistest süsteemidest biomeditsiinis, täpsemalt automatiseeritud laboritehnika rakendustes. Vaadeldavad rakendused hõlmavad sensoreid ja täiturmehhanisme ning nende võrke. Vaadeldakse mikroelektromehaanika valmistamist (prototüübid ja masstootmine) ning selle kasutamist uudsete analüüsi- ja diagnostika ülesannete lahendamisel teadus-arendustöös ja tööstuses. Laboratoorsetes töödes antakse praktilised juhised nimetatud süsteemide väljatöötamiseks, valmistamiseks, simuleerimiseks, testimiseks ja kasutamiseks mõõtmisteks teadus-arendustöös.
