| Welcome to the course of Academic Communication in English! The basic aim of the course is to enable students to acquire and develop their Academic English language skills at levels B2-C2 for the purpose of using specific English language study materials, participating in studies (listening to lectures, participating in seminars, workshops, conferences) conducted in the English language and, if necessary, continuing studies in this language at the master’s or doctoral level. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The course is designed to contribute to the student's abilities to: - express their ideas in a clear, concise, coherent and well-structured manner both in spoken and written English; - discuss study-related and subject-specific topics; express their opinions; - navigate and evaluate different types of academic texts, read for detail and can skillfully apply the acquired language knowledge in their specific field of studies; - compose and give informative presentations on study-related topics; - write different types of academic texts (reports, short articles, subject-specific texts, summaries); - participate in studies, lectures, seminars, conferences conducted in English. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
