The course gives an overview of the main theoretical, methodological, practical and critical aspects regarding the spread and use of big data in analysing social processes. The course also introduces the main methodological approaches for using big data in addressing social changes. These topics will be covered based on theoretical literature, comparative analysis of different countries, and through practical examples and exercises. The course is designed for both students without prior expertise in big data and data analytics as well as for experts with interests in social datafication and socio-cultural consequences of big data.
