Configuring groups to set access restrictions

This guide describes how to proceed in a situation where it is necessary to restrict access to course materials for some students. Such a situation may arise, for example, as a result of automatic student registration, which may cause the system to malfunction when removing a student who has canceled their declaration in SIS (ÕIS) from the Moodle course.
1️⃣ Add a group to the course and name it, for example, “Without Declaration”.
Course front page > tab Participants > From the drop-down menu on the left Groups > Create group:

2️⃣ Place students in the appropriate group.
Course front page > Participants > Groups column and edit button on each row:

3️⃣ Set group-based access restrictions for course topics.
Editing enabled within the course > Topic block or study week block > Change settings:

Under each topic settings, open Restrict Access, select Add Restriction... > Group, and set the following restrictions:
