HOME TASK 2 - Dummy CPU
HOME TASK - READ THIS PAGE FULLY BEFORE YOU START WITH YOU TASK.
Part 1 -
Download the HomeTask2_8_Bit_Dummy_CPU.xlsx file that is attached to this task. Read the description of the Task carefully and complete the tables in the document.
This task is similar to the exercise we finished in the class. Use that as a reference to what you have to do. Furthermore, new functions were added to the instruction set we discussed in class, read all the functions carefully before starting with your task.
Part 2 - ONLY IASM group1 is required to answer this Part
In the class slides (slide number 11), it was stated that we can have 8 operations using 3-bit op code, but in this task, we only had 7 operations. The combination 000 was never used as an op code for any operations. Answer the questions related to this topic in the IASMOnly tab in the excel sheet file.
Please note that there is no wrong answer here. These questions are intended to evaluate the level of your understanding of the lecture material. However, short one-sentence answers will not be accepted. You must demonstrate that your answers are based on an understanding of the key points of how op code and operations are used.
